By 2004, Sierra ceased to exist as an independent entity. Under Vivendi Universal, the studio that had once thrived became a mere shadow of its former self, relegated to a division that stripped away much of its original identity. Despite releasing notable games during this time, such as “Spyro” and “Crash Bandicoot,” Sierra's essence had been lost. As Vivendi disbanded studios and reduced workforce, the historical company faded, leaving behind only a legacy fragmented across various franchises.
