One cannot help but question where the United States falls within such patterns. Are we witnessing the decline of a Republic in favor of an empire?
Many suggest we inhabit a transient space, reminiscent of the era between pivotal transformations in Roman leadership and governance. America embraces a form of global stewardship, with its corporations and technological advancements leading the world. Yet, this preeminence carries with it existential questions about sustainability in governance and civic education.
