Part 1/5:
Rainfall in Southern Nevada: A Record-Breaking Event
Over the past few days, southern Nevada has experienced an unusual deluge, marking a significant shift in weather patterns for the region. The Las Vegas wash, a critical system for managing stormwater, has witnessed an extraordinary increase in rainfall, with reports indicating just under 7 feet at one site in Vegas Valley.
Given that southern Nevada is often characterized by its dry climate, this recent wet weather has provided a much-needed respite, leading to record total rainfall for this time of year. Specifically, at the Las Vegas airport, the cumulative rainfall since Saturday reached 1.50 inches, a notable figure for a month that typically sees its lowest averages.
