Instead, they have seen far more success when leaning into established, beloved characters like Mara Jade—or Thrawn as an earlier example—whom they once declared non-canon. The conversation raised an important point: why not fully embrace and adapt these characters into their cinematic universe, rather than cherry-picking them for merchandise?
