Part 1/11:
The Chinese Dream Turns Into a Nightmare: A Critical Look at China’s Future Under the CCP
Historical Obsession and the Narrative of Superiority
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) remains fixated on its past, often rewriting or erasing history to serve its narrative. Celebrations of historical milestones, such as military parades honoring the victory over Japan in World War II, often ignore the reality that Chinese nationalists, rather than the CCP, fought much of the wartime battles. Similarly, efforts to showcase China’s ancient grandeur—like exhibitions of the Terracotta Warriors in California—are less about cultural appreciation and more about propaganda, emphasizing China's glorious past to inspire national pride and a sense of destined greatness.
