The misconception that warm weather will neutralize the virus is also dispelled. Unlike other coronaviruses, evidence indicates this virus does not diminish with the seasons. Historically, SARS and MERS—related viruses—persist regardless of climate conditions, functioning similarly to influenza viruses that can cause pandemics multiple times.
