Rico Verhoeven, the reigning heavyweight kickboxing champion, is preparing for what he calls the biggest fight in kickboxing history. Scheduled for December in the Netherlands, the rematch against Badahari promises to be a legendary event, taking place in the packed eight-dome arena with approximately 25,000 to 30,000 seats. Verhoeven emphasizes the significance of the fight not just for him personally but for the sport, which is enormously popular in Holland and Europe but digitalized in the U.S. Still, he expresses his frustration over why kickboxing hasn't gained solid footing in America, despite the clear enthusiasm and packed events overseas.
