Doctor Strange 2 has not had an easy road to completion. Initially helmed by director Scott Derrickson, the movie’s creative direction shifted when Derrickson stepped down due to "creative differences." Marvel then replaced him with horror veteran Sam Raimi, known for the Spider-Man trilogy and The Evil Dead. Raimi's inclusion was seen as a promising move, bringing a horror-tinged vision to the multiverse saga.
However, the production didn't go smoothly. Reports indicate that some cast members, including Benedict Cumberbatch, had to film additional scenes under tight schedules, with some even working multiple six-day weeks. Such extensive reshoots often point to last-minute changes, script rewrites, or attempts to salvage a film that isn’t tracking as hoped.
