Neon concludes with a note of skepticism: while unionization can be beneficial in some industries—especially where exploitation is rampant—its success in the American comic book industry is uncertain and potentially dangerous.
He is wary of overreach, particularly the power to cancel or control creative content based on moral or political judgments. He warns that if Image Comics adopts such policies, it might fracture the industry and drive creators away, ultimately harming the very community that the union claims to serve.
