On a routine day of filming, tragedy struck at approximately 1:50 p.m. in New Mexico. According to reports from the Santa Fe County sheriff’s office, Helena Hutchins, age 42, was fatally shot after a live round was discharged from a prop gun handed to Baldwin. The bullet pierced Hutchins, leading to her immediate transfer to the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Director Joel Souza was also wounded and taken to a separate hospital for treatment; his condition remains unclear.
