An interesting contradiction lies in how some companies advocate for inclusion but then enact policies or messages that appear to exclude, or at least alienate, certain gamers based on their political or personal beliefs. The core issue is whether games are meant to reflect real-world politics or serve as an escape from them.
While promoting respect and diversity is admirable, demanding that players conform to specific ideological standards in order to participate is perceived as narrow-minded and divisive—what some call "virtue signaling." It raises the question: is this approach truly inclusive, or does it simply create new in-groups and out-groups?
