The attack allowed hackers to reset passwords, log into these accounts, and even tweet on their behalf. Beyond this, the hackers managed to obtain personal data—such as phone numbers and email addresses—for up to eight specific accounts. These accounts had their data downloaded via Twitter’s "Your Twitter Data" tool, which stores extensive personal information, including private messages (DMs), images, videos, and location history.
