Part 6/11:
Critics argue that Star Wars under Disney has become a “reboot factory,” recycling concepts and visual styles to generate the same old merchandise juggernaut. The original brilliance—delivering new worlds, creatures, and imaginative ideas—has been replaced with derivative content meant primarily to sell toys.
This approach was famously driven by Lucas himself, who always prioritized inventiveness and visual excitement. Disney, however, seems more interested in capitalizing on nostalgia, rehashing older designs, and forcing characters into familiar archetypes to maximize merchandising.
