Black, a non-binary Black game designer who worked at Wizards of the Coast, publicly resigned, citing systemic issues such as tokenism, exploitation, and silencing of critical voices. Black detailed experiences of being recruited as a diversity hire, only to be ignored by management and subjected to disrespect—such as having their work plagiarized and their concerns dismissed.
