Characters are rewarded based on their dedication, bravery, and morality. Even flawed characters face consequences for unethical behavior, reinforcing societal expectations.
American storytelling, especially in recent years, has shifted toward more egalitarian or socialist ideals—where potential is often assumed or given freely, regardless of effort or merit. This trend fosters a sense of entitlement and can diminish the importance of grit and resilience.
