The Early Success of Federal Intervention in Washington, D.C.
Despite initial skepticism and left-wing protests over Donald Trump deploying the National Guard to Washington, D.C., the move appears to be yielding immediate results. Last night, around 850 officers and agents were mobilized across the nation's capital, leading to 23 arrests and numerous police contacts. The crimes flagged ranged from homicide and firearms offenses to narcotics offenses, fare evasion, lewd acts, stalking, possession of high-capacity magazines, fleeing to elude police, driving without permits, DUI, reckless driving, and bench warrants.
