The global order is "rotting from within," leading to a reterritorialization—people reclaiming regional and national identities from supra-national entities.
In the interim, until a new order stabilizes, the world remains in a state of postnormality—a liminal phase marked by chaos and uncertainty, where the old no longer suffices and the new has yet to solidify.
