International Reactions and the Call for a Two-State Solution
While Israel asserts that these measures are necessary for security, international actors continue to advocate for a negotiated solution. Britain, for example, has threatened to recognize Palestine as a state formally and has consistently called for a two-state solution that would allow Israelis and Palestinians to coexist peacefully side by side.
Yosi Balin, a key architect of the original peace plan, remains hopeful but cautious. He emphasizes that both sides are in dire need of reconciliation and compromise. However, he warns that without genuine efforts to reach a mutually acceptable settlement, the cycle of violence and conflict is unlikely to cease.
