Wokeness as a Divisive Force
Ironically, the phenomenon of "wokeness" serves as a catalyst for further division. While it aims to promote social justice, critics argue it often results in censorship, suppression of dissent, and the targeting of perceived enemies—whether those are political figures, academics, or institutions. The alleged misconduct of Harvard faculty, and the tactics used to police academic integrity, are seen by some as evidence of a corrupting influence that erodes trust in higher education and traditional American values.
