This bias can reinforce damaging self-perceptions, such as feelings of unworthiness or insecurity about our bodies or abilities. Compounding this is confirmation bias, where our minds seek evidence that supports our existing beliefs, creating a feedback loop that ensures these narratives remain unchallenged and persistent.
If left unchecked, such biases shape a template in our brains—our default perception of ourselves and the world—that becomes habitual, normalizing a limited view of our potential. This deeply ingrained mindset influences every aspect of life, perpetuating feelings of stagnation and restrictiveness.
