Traditionally, society viewed psychopathy as a distinct category—people either fit the mold of “psychopaths” or they are “normal.” However, modern psychological research challenges this dichotomy, revealing instead a continuum where psychopathic traits range across the population. At one extreme are individuals who are truly heartless, lacking empathy and remorse. At the other end are exceptionally empathetic individuals who care even more than the average person, highlighting that the variable most differing across individuals is their capacity for care and concern for others.
