Despite this, humans often dismiss animal cognition as instinctual or purely reactive. We acknowledge that animals don't think exactly as humans do, but this acknowledgment shouldn't overshadow the fact that they do think. Their behaviors reflect internal patterns of processing information, making decisions, and adapting to their environment. Recognizing this invites us to appreciate a continuum of cognition across species.
