Moving beyond biological entities, we arrive at the realm of machines. Modern artificial intelligence and machine learning systems are also capable of "thinking" in a manner distinct from biological cognition. These machines process vast amounts of data, identify patterns, and make decisions — all hallmarks of thought, albeit in a different form.

While current AI may not match human reasoning in depth or nuance, it nonetheless embodies a pattern of thought that is rapidly evolving. These machine-based patterns of thinking challenge us to reconsider what it means to think and where the boundaries lie. They prompt questions like: What similarities do human and machine cognition share? How are they different? And what does this mean for our understanding of intelligence itself?
