A significant concern raised is the manipulation of imagery and narratives by the media in presenting the conflict. Gemma Tonini points out how photos and videos are often misleading, with scenes purported to show starving Gazans being proven to be staged or misrepresented. For example, a widely circulated photograph of desperate individuals reaching out for food was revealed to be staged, with the people shown posing for the photographer rather than suffering from imminent hunger. Similarly, images of starving children, presented as evidence of humanitarian crises, were found to have been taken from unrelated conflict zones or under different circumstances altogether.
