Wendy Suzuki's passion for the hippocampus has spanned decades, beginning with her early career in 1998 as a young assistant professor at New York University. Her initial goal was to make a significant scientific breakthrough related to how the hippocampus forms new memories, dedicating herself entirely to research without much social or leisure activity. During this period, she experienced a sense of lethargy and poor health, which motivated her to start going to the gym.
