The initial tip came from a family member of Tyler Robinson, who contacted a family friend. This individual relayed information indicating that Robinson had either confessed or implied responsibility for the incident. The tip was promptly forwarded to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, which coordinated with the Utah County Sheriff's Office and scene investigators at UVU. The FBI was also notified to ensure comprehensive coordination and resource sharing.
