A significant factor contributing to the current state is the shift in Disney's management philosophy since Bob Chapek's tenure as CEO. During his leadership, and even more so with Josh Marrow taking the helm later, Disney aggressively pursued a model centered around premium experiences, dynamic pricing, and extra-cost add-ons like Lightning Lane and paid upgrades. While these strategies aimed to maximize revenue, they alienated some core audiences and diminished the perceived value of a Disney visit.
