Part 8/11:
Underappreciated and Underowned
Despite these advantages, Taiwan remains seriously underowned in global portfolios. Passive indices often treat Taiwan as a mere footnote, failing to reflect its true economic heft and strategic importance. For global allocators in New York, London, and Singapore, there is a lack of clear, accessible channels to invest directly in Taiwan's equities.
This neglect offers a prime opportunity. As the world shifts toward regionalized manufacturing, strategic chips, and supply chain sovereignty—bolstered by initiatives like the U.S. Chips Act—Taiwan is at the epicenter. It leads in AI, high-performance computing, and advanced packaging, making it a cornerstone of the next wave of macroeconomic leverage.
