The critical concern is the impact of these decisions on the Browns’ season and future. The franchise's overarching goal should be to find out whether Gabriel or Sanders can be their long-term solution at quarterback. If the front office’s assessment is that Sanders is capable, then denying him opportunities to learn and contribute could hinder their development plan.
Conversely, if there’s doubt about his readiness, then perhaps the coaching staff's cautious approach is justified. But refusing to promote him, especially when roster circumstances (only two active quarterbacks) suggest he should be the clear choice for QB2, could undermine the team’s best interests.
