Contrary to popular perception, the recent investigation may not be solely about Tesla per se but could also reflect NITSA’s broader role in overseeing safety within a highly scrutinized category: consumer autonomy in vehicles. Tesla's prominence in this space makes it the primary target, but the underlying issues are more systemic and regulatory.
