Interestingly, Weissbomb points out that during his trip, he was able to leave the UK without any issue showing only his passport and flight details. The requirement to present the credit card was seemingly only enforced upon return travel in London. This inconsistency lends credence to the argument that the policy may be more of a bureaucratic safeguard than a grounded security measure.
