While the core offensive line terminology was familiar, the overall concepts and call language were wildly different from what the player was accustomed to. The play calls were lengthy, dense, and filled with elaborate verbiage, which contrasted sharply with his preference for concise communication on the field.
He humorously recounts his frustration with the long, elaborate play description, joking about wanting to call plays with simpler, one-word terminology. For example, one of the first plays he learned was titled with a mouthful of code, which left him bewildered—"What the [explicit] is that?"
