Part 2/8:
This morning, the region experienced considerable cloud cover, with high pressure still influencing the area, allowing for occasional peeks of sunshine. However, clouds will gradually thicken throughout the day, giving way to ongoing showers. By midday, the first bands of rain have already started to arrive in Newport, and the region will see increasing rainfall as the afternoon progresses. Temperatures are expected to hover between 55 and 60 degrees, slightly cooler in northern areas.
Tonight, clouds will deepen, and rain will intensify. The forecast indicates that by early Sunday morning, rain will become more persistent and heavy at times, especially as we head into Sunday night. This sets the stage for a wet start to the workweek.
