Cam enrolled at Sacramento State, and his impact was immediate. His freshman season was cut short due to COVID-19, but he still managed over 500 rushing yards and six touchdowns. His sophomore year was historic; he amassed 1,878 all-purpose yards, scored 12 touchdowns, and earned Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year honors, along with being named an FCS All-American.
