When asked why he committed the act, Robinson explained that he was overwhelmed by “evil” and anger towards Charlie Kirk, whom he believed spread too much hate. This suggests that the shooting was motivated, at least in part, by Robinson's perception of Kirk's political stance and what he saw as harmful rhetoric.
