Part 5/12:
The decision to persist with Justin Fields is increasingly difficult to justify. Not only did Fields' poor play hurt their chances in this game, but it also hampers the entire team’s potential. The Jets' offensive limitations are evident: with Fields severely off, the coaching staff's in-game decisions, like opting not to attempt a 62-yard field goal, appear puzzling. In such situations, a veteran kicker like Nick Folk might have offered a better shot at points.
The broader issue is the quarterback-head coach combo. Historically, teams with elite quarterback and head coach partnerships tend to succeed, as seen with the Rams' Stafford-Reed synergy and the Chiefs' Mahomes-Reed pairing. Currently, the Jets arguably have the weakest connection, which arguably hampers their overall success.
