Tesla is currently under federal scrutiny following reports of door mechanical failures, particularly concerning models from 2021. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) launched an investigation after receiving nine reports of electronic door handles malfunctioning, possibly due to low battery levels.
These failures have led to dangerous situations, including children being trapped inside vehicles, forcing parents to break windows to free their children. Although Tesla vehicles are equipped with manual door releases, concerns remain that children may not be capable of operating these mechanisms accurately or reliably.
