One of the most immediate and eye-catching details is the cost of the new sodium-ion batteries. CL reports their current sodium cells are priced at approximately $19 USD per kilowatt-hour at the cell level. To put this into perspective, today's lithium-ion phosphate cells typically cost between $55 to $60 per kilowatt-hour when purchased in large quantities. Although this isn't a 90% drop, it's still a substantial ~65% cost reduction, making sodium-ion batteries significantly more economical.
