The Other Team’s Indifference and Lack of Respect
A recurring theme is how the opposing teams—like the Denver Broncos—approach the Jets as beatable, vulnerable opponents. The Broncos, fresh off a win against the Eagles, appeared to treat the game with disdain, playing lackluster football but still capitalizing on Jets mistakes. Moreover, officials seemed to give the Jets an unusually fair chance, calling only two penalties all game, which ironically did little to help the Jets secure victory.
The fact that Denver’s players played as if the targeting was easy fuels frustration that sheer effort and opportunity could at least yield a win, but coaching mistakes and execution failures doomed the Jets.
