Part 9/10:

Living abroad inevitably reveals both the contrasts and similarities between countries. The small everyday differences—like how communities embrace their patriotism, the openness of religious expression, or the manner in which military service is acknowledged—shape unique cultural identities. Yet, amid these differences, I also recognize shared human values: community, pride, respect, and a desire for connection.

The longer I stay in the U.S., the more I notice things I never expected—from seasonal home decorations to the welcoming atmosphere of neighborhoods. It’s a vibrant, energetic environment that, despite its differences from Britain, feels familiar in its warmth and communal spirit.
