For example, a pump designated as "PT tank A1233" might be called "asset A" in SAP, "pump A" in historian systems, and have yet another label in PDFs or diagrams.

Cognite addresses this by creating a knowledge graph that links all data points, regardless of their source or naming conventions. Using machine learning algorithms, Cognite’s system recognizes that different references actually pertain to the same asset, enabling a unified view.
