One of the most striking examples is Portugal, where the political landscape has been dramatically altered by a relatively new party: Sha (also referred to as Shagger in some reports). Founded only in 2019, this party has rapidly ascended from obscurity to prominence, nearly sweeping the political scene and positioning itself as a major opposition force.
In recent national elections, Sha achieved a remarkable electoral breakthrough, securing close to 27% of the vote and becoming the leading opposition party. The party's leader, André Ventura, has emerged as a prominent figure, reflecting a clear shift in voter sentiment. Sha surpassed the traditionally dominant socialist party, which finished third with 58 seats, while Sha claimed 60 seats in the parliament.
