Efficiency & Limitations: Only about 80% efficiency—meaning you pay for some energy that doesn’t reach the battery. Cold weather also impacts charging capacity, with extreme cold (sub-zero°F) causing the vehicle to prioritize battery warmth over charging, sometimes resulting in no charge at all.
Real-World Experience: Charging off of Level 1 can be sufficient for those with a short daily commute (~40 miles), especially if you’re mostly home overnight. But it requires vigilance about battery levels and is less convenient overall.
