Part 2/11:
In our current societal landscape, many voices are left out of important dialogues. Even those who participate often do so with self-censorship, constrained by biases, social hierarchies, or cultural norms. The speaker passionately believes in meritocracy: a world where ideas can originate from anyone, anywhere. The challenge, however, is that bias—whether personal or conformational—limits the breadth of solutions.
Despite the exponential growth of social media and broadcast capabilities, there's a paradox: our ability to broadcast has expanded, but our capacity to listen and engage meaningfully has diminished. Influencers with large followings drown out diverse perspectives, making it difficult for inclusive problem-solving to flourish.
