Part 11/15:
The James Webb Space Telescope: A New Era in Infrared Astronomy
Launched in 2021, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) represents the latest evolution in astronomical observation. Unlike Hubble, JWST operates approximately one million miles from Earth at the L2 Lagrange point—a gravitational balancing position that allows it to stay in a stable shadow of the Earth, significantly blocking out infrared interference from the planet and sun.
