Interestingly, much of this progress has been facilitated during a politically tumultuous period. While some projects’ signage still carries symbols from prior administrations, the infrastructure investments are largely grounded in bipartisan support, especially since much of the funding comes from legislation like the Biden administration’s bipartisan infrastructure bill. Even some elements originating under the Trump administration, like the Seattle rail yard upgrades, owe their momentum to prior investments and planning efforts.
