Part 8/14:
- SD Cards and Storage Devices: An SD card, found within the camera casing, was examined via high-energy CT scans and forensic software. It revealed 12 images and nine videos. Crucially, none showed evidence of the dive in which the catastrophe occurred, implying that the camera mainly recorded previous data, not the final moments.
The Camera System
An external 4K, 12-megapixel underwater camera intended for visual documentation mostly survived the implosion but experienced mechanical shearing. The internals showed no direct damage, but the case had gouges and deformation. The analysis of the SD card's encrypted data reveal the storage system was based on a Linux-like firmware running on a system-on-module board, typical of embedded underwater systems.
