The pitch was compelling because it aligned with my desires: to travel more and to have my own business. The idea of leveraging the internet's potential to generate income while seeing the world seemed like a perfect fit, and I was eager to jump in. However, as I later realized, the actual mechanics of how the business operated were fundamentally flawed.
The Critical Flaw: Not Selling a Product
The core problem with this scheme, and one that is common among pyramid operations, was that I was not actually selling travel services or a legitimate product. Instead, the primary way to make money was through recruiting others into the scheme. The more people I recruited, the more money I could ostensibly make.
