At the heart of the debate is Farzad’s critique questioning the rationale behind the Cyber Cab’s design choices. The vehicle, as envisioned by Tesla, is purportedly built with no steering wheel or pedals—what some refer to as a Level 5 fully autonomous vehicle. Farzad challenges this concept, asking why the design still includes traditional automobile features such as a windshield, doors, or a hood. If the vehicle is truly driverless, he argues, why not optimize aerodynamics by eliminating these features? Why not make it more streamlined and futuristic, with a fully glass-less, windowless exterior, or even an interior centered exclusively on passenger screens or projected displays?
