In a dramatic turn, Elon Musk's XAI filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, accusing it of poaching XAI employees and stealing trade secrets related to Grock's source code, business plans, and data center operations. Musk accused OpenAI of crossing ethical lines to stay ahead in the AI race, citing a July email exchange in which an ex-XAI executive dismissed confidentiality agreements with a provocative phrase, "Suck my dick."
Musk further explained that the lawsuit was prompted by ongoing efforts of OpenAI to cheat and steal, notwithstanding numerous warnings. He shared that lawsuits were the last resort after all other efforts to address the issue failed.
